Senior Health and Social Services Information

Although we live a long way from the Napa Valley we are part of Napa County. As such we are eligible for all the benefits available to older adults in Napa County.

Comprehensive Services for Older Adults

Since 1948, Mentis has had a long history of serving Napa County’s low income individuals and families starting with those just returning from World War II. We are the oldest continually operating nonprofit in the County.

Today our focus is providing bilingual professional mental health services to people up and down the county of every age, stage and income level. We believe equipping our residents with the tools they need to live emotionally healthy, stable lives creates a community of enduring strength.

Every day, our staff of clinicians works throughout the county to counsel, support and coach those who need to overcome the hurdles that life can throw at them. Last year we served over 1,000 people.

We want every person in Napa County who needs mental health treatment to receive it. Because everyone needs support at times, and without us, people throughout the valley would needlessly suffer in silence.

Mentis provides bilingual professional mental health treatment services to individuals, couples, and families of all ages and background with emotional and behavioral problems. Services include: individual, family and group therapy, supportive housing and case management services, crisis intervention, and specialized services tailored for older adults. For more information or to schedule appointments, please call us at 707/255.0966 ext.132.

Healthy Minds-Healthy Aging is a prevention and early intervention program for residents of Napa Valley who are 60 years and older, and show early signs of depression and/or cognitive decline. We provide free, in-home bilingual services, which include evidence based assessments, case management and brief therapeutic interventions.

In addition, Healthy Minds-Healthy Aging provides community education regarding dementia and depression to reduce stigma and encourage access to therapy. Our focus is on emerging mental health and cognitive impairment issues among older adults and their caregivers, and as such we believe that we:

Enhance the quality of life for older adults and their families by enabling them to live as independently as possible for as long as possible.

Improve access to and utilization of services for mental and cognitive health concerns.

Increase early identification of mental health needs and cognitive decline.

Increase capacity and improve coordination among providers.

Healthy Minds-Healthy Aging Program is partnership of Mentis: Napa’s Center for Mental Health Services, Collabria CareQVMC CARE Network, and Napa County Comprehensive Services for Older Adults.
